We encourage you to check out this coming Saturday’s Household Hazardous Waste Event on June 21, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pasadena Rose Bowl, Parking Lot K. Sponsored jointly by the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts and the Department of Public Works. The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Program gives Los Angeles County residents a legal and cost free way to dispose of unwanted household chemicals that cannot be disposed of in the regular trash.
THINGS TO BRING
- Motor Oil, Antifreeze, Paint, Paint Thinner.
- Turpentine, Cleaners with Acids or Lye.
- Pesticides and Herbicides.
- Household and Car Batteries.
- Old Computers and Television Sets.
- Sharps or Used Needles.
- Expired Pharmaceuticals and Mercury Thermometers.
THINGS NOT TO BRING
- Explosives, Ammunition or Radioactive materials.
- Waste from Businesses will NOT be accepted.
- Trash or Old Tires.
- White Goods such as Washers, Stoves, Refrigerators or Air Conditioners.
HOW TO PREPARE
- In general there is a limit of 15 gallons or 125 lbs. per vehicle.
- Bring items in a sturdy box, preferably in their original labeled containers.
- Be prepared to leave your containers.
- Do not mix products together.

Friends of the Sierra Madre Library will be hosting the 52nd Annual Art Fair at Memorial Park (at Sierra Madre Boulevard and Hermosa Avenue) in the charming village of Sierra Madre.
The two-day, widely publicized event offers artists a chance to show and sell their work. To enhance the Fair for artists and customers, visitors have the opportunity to demonstrate their own creative techniques. Food vendors will provide a selection of ethnic foods and entertainers will perform.
Event will be Saturday, May 3rd, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 4th, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m
It is the 25th anniversary of Museums of the Arroyo Day on Sunday, May 18, 2014. Visitors are invited to visit six local museums for free. The Gamble House, Heritage Square Museum, the Los Angeles Police Museum, the Lummis Home, the Pasadena Museum of History, and the Autry’s Historic Southwest Museum are included. The event runs from noon to 5 p.m.

This one-day-only show and sale features ceramics, collage, drawings, fabric, glass, jewelry, paintings, photography and woodcarvings. The tree encircled setting for Art on Palm offers an inviting venue for guests and a stunning backdrop for the displays.
Art on Palm will help benefit the Creative Arts Group. Artists will donate a portion of their sales to this non-profit organization. Creative Arts Group (CAG) was founded in 1960 by six couples to provide quality art experiences and instruction to augment the dwindling arts programs in public schools.
Parking is free and light refreshments will be available for sale.
